Mar 23 - China Unicom: 2011 Revenue Exceeds CNY 200 Billion, Net Profit Up 14%

+       China Unicom (762.HK) released its annual report on March 22 showing that the company made CNY 209.17 billion in revenue in 2011, a 22.05% year-on-year increase, and made net profits of CNY 4.23 billion, a 14.2% year-on-year increase. Basic earnings per share were CNY 0.18. China Unicom will make final dividend payouts of CNY 0.1 per share.

China Unicom has maintained stable revenue and profit growth in 2011, partially due to rapid growth in the 3G business. However, China Unicom is not able to challenge China Mobile’s leader position because of great differences in both total user base and ARPU.
