Mar 14 - Nearly One-Fifth of Total Grain Output Comes From Northeast China

+       In 2011, grain output from China’s three Northeastern provinces reached 107.75 billion kg, accounting for 18.9% or one-fifth of China’s total grain output.
+       According to statistics by the National Development and Reform Commission, grain output in Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang Provinces last year was 20.35 billion kg, 31.7 billion kg and 55.7 billion kg, respectively. Grain output in Heilongjiang took over the top spot from Henan Province for the first time last year. Heilongjiang has one-tenth of China’s arable land, and produces one-fourth of China’s commodity grains.
