Mar 21 - PBOC: Bankers’ Macroeconomic Confidence Index at 65%

+       According to the quarterly survey of bankers by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), macroeconomic climate index in the first quarter was 40%. The index has been below the demarcation line of 50% for the second consecutive month. However, banker’s macroeconomic confidence index rebounded 5.6 percentage points from the level in 2010Q4 to 65%.
+       Banking industry climate index in the first quarter dropped 2.2 percentage points to 83.2%, and loan demand index fell 0.3 percentage points to 79.6%.

The survey of the banking sector shows improvement in banker’s confidence and monetary policies sentiment.
