Feb 21 - Chinese Cinemas to Screen More U.S. Movies

+       Recently, China and the U.S. have reached an agreement regarding issues related to movies after their World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute last year.
+       Based on the agreement, apart from the annual quota of 20 revenue-sharing foreign movies, China will introduce 14 extra 3D and IMAX movies each year, so that private enterprises will have more opportunities to screen foreign movies. Meanwhile, the U.S. studio’s share of revenues will increase from the previous 13% to 25%.

Driven by the expanding quantity and quality of movies, box-office growth is rapid.
Moviegoing has become a popular entertainment of young Chinese people. Thus, investment in the film industry is booming.
