Feb 20 - Sino-U.S. USD 4.3 Billion Soy Bean Orders Signed

+       On February 15, 15 contracts were signed between Sino-U.S. enterprises during Vice Chairman XI Jinping’s visit in the United States. China will import 8.62 million metric tons of soy beans from the U.S., worth USD 4.31 billion in value.
+       Currently, the nation’s external dependency ratio of soy bean is nearly 80%. The imports were 54.8 million tons and 52.64 million tons in 2010 and 2011 respectively. The U.S. ranks as China’s largest exporter of soy bean, accounting for over 40% of total imports.
