Dec 19 - Will Pension Funds Enter the Capital Market?

+   As of the end of 2010, the capital balance of local social security funds was about RMB 2 trillion, most of which was contributed by pension funds.
+   An official from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has previously emphasized that before the relevant national regulations are in place, local social security funds can only invest in certain banks or purchase national bonds. Local governments, departments or individuals cannot use the funds for other forms of investment.
+   However, an official from the CSRC recently suggested that pension funds can learn from the national social security funds, and increase their earnings by investing in the stock market.
