According to data released by the U.S.
Department of the Treasury on July 17, China held a total of USD 1.17 trillion
U.S. treasury securities at the end of May, USD 25.6 billion more than at the
end of March.
Holdings of US treasury securities increased in April and May. US treasury securities accounted for 35.39% of China’s foreign exchange reserves in March.
